許韋晟 Lowking Nowbucyang
太魯閣族,現任財團法人原住民族語言研究發展基金會執行長,國立清華大學語言學博士。
長期投入原住民族語言政策研究、復振與教學推廣,太魯閣語構詞與語法研究,曾榮獲2020年度台灣語言學會最佳博士論文獎。推動建置原住民族語資料庫與語料庫系統,研發16族教材與多套有聲教具。並持續推動開發AI語音辨識與翻譯系統計畫、族語資源整合平台上線、族語專業培訓計畫,以及與加拿大、紐西蘭等國展開國際合作專案,持續促進族語的數位化、教育化與永續傳承。
Lowking Nowbucyang (許韋晟)
The Truku people, Lowking Nowbucyang is the current CEO of the Indigenous Languages Research and Development Foundation. A Ph.D. in Linguistics from National Tsing Hua University and has dedicated his career to the research, revitalization, and promotion of indigenous language policies, as well as the study of Truku morphology and syntax.
In 2020, he received the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Linguistic Society of Taiwan. He has been instrumental in establishing databases and corpora for indigenous languages and has developed a wide range of educational materials, including teaching aids and audio resources for 16 different indigenous groups.
He continues to spearhead initiatives for developing AI-based speech recognition and translation systems, launching a platform for integrating indigenous language resources, and implementing professional training programs. He has also established international collaboration projects with countries such as Canada and New Zealand, all with the goal of promoting the digitalization, educational integration, and sustainable preservation of indigenous languages.
