Taiwan has made significant progress in advancing its digital transformation and e-government initiatives, but there are still gaps and challenges in the legal framework that governs the use and impact of digital technologies. This workshop aims to explore the current state of the legal framework for a digital society in Taiwan, identify the main issues and risks, and propose some recommendations for improvement. The workshop will cover topics such as data protection and privacy, digital identity and authentication, cyber security, digital platforms and services, digital rights and responsibilities, and digital governance and participation. The workshop will also draw on comparative experiences and best practices from other countries and regions, such as the European Union, US and others.
